Home Again!

We are home from vacation and back on the Roller Coaster of life with the boys!

Our vacation was TERRIFIC - really, really amazing.  A whole week of being spoiled - I loved it!  Our last day at the resort was Monday, and we spent the afternoon into late evening flying, then the entire night and next morning driving back from Chicago and then picking up the boys from my mom's.  Whew!  So exhausted Tuesday night when we got home...  Wednesday morning Gabe was back to swim practice, Ashton to Little Builders, and me to work - which is still really kicking my butt!  Another grant due Monday - ugh!  And then after work, Gabe's first Tae-Kwan-Do practice!  He was SO excited but also very serious about it, and it shows more and more how competitive that little guy can be.  He actually kicks very well.  He's just awesome.  :)

While we were on vacation, the week started out rough for Grandma Fonda and Grandma D, who had to take Gabe to the doctor on Monday and get him an antibiotic and steroids for a cough.  Gabe missed a swim meet Tuesday night because he wasn't feeling good enough to go.  :/  Sorry Fonda and Grandma D - hate it when my boys are sick but I hope you got lots of sweet snuggles!  So, my mom picked them up that Tuesday and had them for a week, with shared time between her and Katy & Josh and Quintin and Connor.  The boys had the traditional summer fun: bike-riding, tree climbing, water guns and sprinkler time, watermelon and sidewalk chalk.  :)  ALSO, Quintin is playing coach-pitch ball and Gabe was able to join in a game with Q's team.  They said the first time he was up to bat, he had no time hitting the ball and ran to first base... WITH the Bat!  :)  How cute is that!?  LOVE my boys.  Missed them while I was on vacation but dealt with it easier this time than a couple years ago, just the difference in their age mostly.  :)  Anyways, thanks again to my friends and family for helping us out with the boys, with the garden, with our big dog Kidd... So I saw on Facebook that this weekend my neighbor is having a huge garage sale and half of me would like to have a sale too...  but the other half says Give it Away!  :)  So, if I'm crazy, I might spend the evening pulling clothes bins out of closets and sorting through nick-nacks, etc.  That would be crazy though... I still haven't unpacked yet!  :)  Jermie on the other hand, is itching to get his Catamaran out on the water.  :)  Yay for busy summers.
