No more Training Wheels!

July 15, 2012

Ashton and Dad had a big day this summer when Ashton decided he was old enough to ride a bike without training wheels.  :)  Here’s his last ride with them on:

Then he and dad went to work:

And then it was time to ride:

It was VERY rocky at first!  That bicycle has the smallest tires and he would pedal fast and then get worried he was going to fall.  ;)  He would sometimes do better on his brother’s bike.  Even though it was taller and harder for him to start on, he could relax and go a little slower…

Now Ashton ROCKS at it, even though he has had some excellent crashes, he has made it look mostly easy.  In a month, his confidence is great and he’s able to ride around the block with his brother.  My boys are always impressing me with their bravery!  ;)

Gabe insists on riding with one hand and doing other things to make bike-riding even more challenging.  He loves ramping off the broken sidewalk in our neighbor’s yard and one day I came home for lunch and he had built his own ramp with boards he collected from dad’s shop.  Cray boy!  ;)

Make that ‘boys.’  CrAzY Boys!  …. I love ‘em!  :)
